The New Group hit production of David Rabe's Hurlyburly will begin performances at 37 Arts a week later than previously announced. The show will now get underway at its new venue on April 11 in preparation for an April 20 opening.
Set in the cocaine-and-sex-infused Hollywood Hills of the mid-1980s, Hurlyburly is Rabe's brutally comic reflection on the decade of decadence. Led by Ethan Hawke as Eddie, the New Group company also features Bobby Cannavale, Josh Hamilton, Catherine Kellner, Parker Posey, Wallace Shawn and Halley Wegryn Gross.
The show, directed by Scott Elliott, opened to mostly positive reviews at Theatre Row's Acorn Theatre on January 27. The mounting is scheduled to end its sold-out run at the Acorn on March 19.
